SOIL Frontman Defends TRUMP's 'Locker-Room' Talk, Says He Would Have Voted For Satan Over 'KILLARY'

SOIL frontman Ryan McCombs has once again weighed in on underdog Donald Trump‘s stunning upset of Hillary Clinton in the U.S. presidential election, saying that while he is not a Trump supporter, he “would have voted for Satan” over Clinton.

Trump shocked the political establishment and the world by becoming the 45th president in one of the biggest upsets in U.S. political history. He won with 289 electoral votes compared to 218 for Hillary Clinton. 270 were needed to win. Clinton, however, handily won the popular vote, despite losing the overall election.

Speaking to Metal Wani‘s Carl O’Rourke before SOIL‘s November 15 concert in Bristol, England, McCombs said about the election outcome (see video below): “You know, I wish people fully understood the scope of just how much U.S. media was controlled by the party that’s been in office for the last eight years.

“When I first came over [to Europe] well before the election — a couple of weeks before the election — I was surprised to hear the opinions that I was hearing, because it was just so anti-Trump.

“I think what a lot of people need to sit back and look at was that Donald Trump was… I’m not a Trump supporter — I don’t think he’s the greatest [candidate for a president] at all. I think when you’re left with him or ‘Killary‘ [sic], you have to go with… I would have voted for Satan over her. I have too many military friends that have actually bled for the country to ever think about [voting for her].”

He continued: “Anyway, do I think [Trump is] awesome? No. Do I think he’s better than the [other] option? Absolutely!

“I think what people need to do is sit back and realize is that Donald Trump was in the public eye for thirty years and he dealt with a lot of people that he worked with, like Rosa Parks [the iconic symbol of the 20th Century civil rights movement] and tons of people within the black community, and he was never labeled a racist until he went up against the Democratic party.

“Did he say some stuff off color about women? Yeah, he talked like a man in a locker room. He talked like a guy talking to another guy, and any other guy out there that wants to say otherwise is lying through his teeth.

“Was it right? No, it wasn’t. Did he say something that was off color? Yes, he did. But, you know, he’s not a polished politician, he’s not a lifetime career politician, so he doesn’t talk like a politician; he’s not bullshitting everything he says. He’s just talking like a person, and sometimes the stuff that comes out of his mouth isn’t politically correct.”

McCombs concluded: “Again, am I a supporter of Donald Trump? No. Can I see how some of the stuff he says is wrong? Yes. I don’t support some of the stuff that’s come out of his mouth. But I also think some of the stuff that came out of his mouth was definitely inflated by the Democratic party.”

Ryan admitted in a separate interview with Metal Underground that he did not personally vote in the latest election, blaming it on the fact that “I moved just before this tour, and I forgot to set up the whole… Basically, it was too late for me to register in my new location. So I didn’t end up voting.”

SOIL recently commenced the songwriting process for a new studio album, tentatively due in late 2017.

The band’s last disc, “Whole”, arrived in August 2013 via Pavement Entertainment.
