JUDAS PRIEST's IAN HILL: 'The Creative Juices Are Flowing'

JUDAS PRIEST bassist Ian Hill has told W4CY Radio‘s “Pipeman In The Pit” that the band is planning to record a follow-up to last year’s “Firepower” album. “There was a lot of unused ideas on ‘Firepower’ — ’cause we didn’t have time to pursue them, basically,” he said (hear audio below). “A hell of a lot of good stuff there. And the creative juices are flowing as well. So, another five, six, seven songs and we should have an album’s worth of material. So when the ‘Firepower’ tour [ends], the dust has settled on that and we’ve had a bit of time off to recharge our batteries, we’ll see where we stand and see if we can get back into the studio.”

PRIEST singer Rob Halford recently told Consequence Of Sound that guitarist Glenn Tipton was “going through the massive archives of riffs and ideas” as well as “coming up with his own brand-new PRIEST riffs” for the band’s next disc.

Tipton announced his retirement from touring in February 2018 after revealing his unfortunate diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. He passed on the torch to the producer of the “Firepower” album, Andy Sneap.

PRIEST‘s current touring lineup consists of Halford, guitarists Sneap and Richie Faulkner, drummer Scott Travis and founding member Hill.

JUDAS PRIEST‘s U.S. tour with fellow classic heavy rockers URIAH HEEP kicked off on May 3 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida and will wrap on June 29 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
